And a good one I didn't know about. Mostly because I'd moved out of dial up when DW launched so didn't need placeholders anymore.

TBH, I'd rather placeholder on filesize over image size, a teeny animated gif with lots of frames can cause more problems than a large well optimised png, but I have no clue if we can even possibly programme that.
